The water is kept cool in a cooler, very refreshing since you'll be outside and doing a bit of walking. We had a full shuttle (and yes, it has AC)! Our guide was Gustavo (Gus Gus) and they provided us with as much water as we needed. You don't wait long, the tour was at 9 am and we left at 9:15 am.
Upon checking in, you provide the remainder of your balance in cash and wait for your shuttle. Stay to your left once past security and the building for Island Marketing will be on your left. Once outside the port authority security, I felt very safe. I found Island Marketing on Trip Advisor, read the positive reviews, and decided to book! I had a great experience! True to the reviews, you do have to allow yourself time (about 25 minutes) to walk from the ship to the Island Marketing building. I was seeking a shorter ruin tour, that would also allow me to explore the shops at the port. After reviewing the Mayan ruins shore excursions offered on Royal Caribbean, I was disappointed that they only offered 2 options (a 6 hour and 8 hour tour).
